A Polk County sheriff's deputy has been suspended from duty following an arrest for domestic battery, officials said.
Sheriff's Deputy Timothy Strickland, 46, was accused of intentionally pushing his wife, who fell to the ground, the Polk County Sheriff's Office said.
The victim, identified as Marie Strickland, "sustain noticeable bruising to her face, left hand, and small scratches on both arms near her elbows," the release stated.
The Stricklands have been married for about six years and live together.
