Police need your help finding man who threw brick into high-end consignment shop

TAMPA, Fla. — Tampa police are investigating a break-in at a high-end consignment shop in Tampa early Wednesday morning.

Police responded to the alarm at Mosh-Posh located on 2419 West Kennedy Boulevard.

"We are in shock. We feel violated. Right now, we are cleaning up and taking inventory. We had to close today to do that," said General Manager, Cody Lash.

Police said a man threw a brick into a side window of the store around 2:30 Wednesday morning.

Surveillance video from the store shows a man walking out with an armful of items.

The store is known for re-selling high-priced women's items, including brands like Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Prada and more.

Merchandise sold in the store includes but is not limited to, jewelry, clothes, and shoes.

Lash said the store has insurance and consignors have nothing to worry about, their items are covered.

But, at this point, they do not know how much was taken.

Angela Brown, who frequents the store said this is unsettling on many levels.

"They are just great people and you hate to see anything like this happen," said Brown. "But, it is comforting to know consignors are also covered."

We checked with Tampa police who tell us there has only been one burglary along the Kennedy corridor this year. That's an improvement from last year. Police say during the same time frame last year, there were six burglaries.

Tampa police said extra patrols, neighborhood watches, and people really following through with their motto, "if you see something, say something" are helping to reduce crime.

If you know something, call Crime Stoppers you could be eligible for a reward. 1-800-873-8477 (TIPS)
