Pinellas County sheriff's deputies are investigating the apparent drowning of a 28-year-old man on St. Pete Beach.
Gary R. Tribou II of Pinellas Park went into the Gulf of Mexico Thursday evening and was found unconscious a short time later. He was found in the water and pulled ashore behind the TradeWinds Island Grand Resort in the 5500 block of Gulf Boulevard.
Sheriff's deputies received the cal at about 7:41 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8
St. Pete Beach Fire Deparment paramedics arrived on the scene and began medical procedures to revive him. Tribou was taken to Palms of Pasadena Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
