ABC Action News' first pet of the week for 2016 is a dog that fell on some hard times. Polar was found as a stray and taken to the Hillsborough County Pet Resources Center.
Second Chance Friends pulled her out of the shelter in an attempt to give her a better life.
Polar is a petite 55 lb., 2-year-old Terrier mix. She is house trained and has nice manners.
Shelter workers say she will need moderate activity and likes to play with other dogs. Polar is currently Heartworm positive but is receiving treatment. She will be ready for adoption in a few months.
