One pedestrian was struck and injured when she attempted to cross U.S. 41 at 57th Avenue West in Bradenton Tuesday night, authorities said.
The victim, who Manatee County sheriff's deputies described as an unidentified white female in dark clothing, was taken to Blake Medical Center in critical condition, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office said.
The incident occurred about 8:35 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22.
According to a Manatee County sheriff's news release, the pedestrian was standing in the median on U.S.41 just north of 57th Avenue West. She attempted to cross eastbound on U.S. 41 and entered the path of a 2001 Jaguar XK8 driven by Scott Slutsky, 56 of Anna Maria.
Slutsky, who was uninjured, did not see the pedestrian before the incident occurred, the release states.
There was no indication the incident was alcohol related.
The investigation continues.
