A middle-aged man died Monday night after two cars hit him while he tried to cross Court Street in Clearwater.
Police said a westbound car hit Robert Wayne Coon, 53, between Missouri Ave. and Martin Luther King Jr. Ave., followed by a second westbound car that ran him over. Both drivers stayed on the scene, and police said neither appeared impaired.
A Clearwater police report said the man was not in a crosswalk and appeared to be alone. Police say he was homeless.
