ORIGINAL STORY | One woman died and another one wounded following a drive-by shooting incident adjacent to a gas station on West Memorial Boulevard in Lakeland, officials said.
Shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday, a woman identified as Andrea Dixon, 39, was found lying on the ground in the parking lot of a Chevron gas station in the 1600 block of West Memorial Blvd., Lakeland Police Department said.
She was taken to Lakeland Regional Health, where she was pronounced dead at 3:05 a.m.
About the same time, the Lakeland Police Department received a call from Lakeland Regional Health about a second shooting victim being dropped off at the emergency room, a Lakeland Police Department news release states. The second person identified as Johnetha Ragins, 34, had been shot in the right hip and left forearm.
Several witnesses told officers a crowd involved in fights at Rumors Night Club on East Memorial Blvd. spilled over to the Chevron gas station, the release states.
The suspect has been identified as Derrick Deon Robinson. Witnesses stated that Robinson pointed a handgun at the group, hitting Andrea Dixon and Johnetha Ragins. Robinson is wanted for First Degree Murder, Attempted First Degree Murder and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. Anyone with information on Robinson's whereabouts is encouraged to contact the Lakeland Police Department.
