One person hospitalized following wrong way traffic crash, suspect arrested for DUI

One person was hospitalized following a wrong way traffic crash that led to a DUI arrest over the weekend. 

Geovany Mendez, posted $750 bond on Sunday after he was arrested for driving southbound in the northbound lanes of Anderson Road near Hoover Boulevard and crashed head on into another vehicle around 11:15 p.m. Saturday night. 

This case, was one of three wrong way driver incidents in the Bay area over the weekend.

The wrong way driver, Mendez, was suspected of being under the influence during the time of the crash. Deputies conducted a breath test on the suspect. His blood alcohol content was .173, just over twice the legal limit.

Mendez was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and driving without a valid Driver's License. 

Deputies did not release the other driver's information.
