TAMPA, Fla. — The US central command will set up a new space force organization at the MacDill Airforce base on Friday.
The forces will be part of the space center, the newest service component under Centcom.
The organization will be responsible for the execution of space operations, including satellite navigation, communications and missile warnings.
Officials say the addition will advance US partnerships in the region throughout the space domain.
