While Santa delivered presents all over the world, your donations here in the Tampa Bay Area helped nearly 19,000 local families celebrate Christmas.

The Metropolitan Ministries "Holiday Tent" collected thousands of toys right here in Tampa and in Pasco County.

All week volunteers collected and organized those toys and then gave them to families in need.

The employees of Wellcare Health Plans of Tampa donated hundreds of gifts for the kids currently living on the Metro Ministries campus.

Over 100 families and over 260 kids woke up this morning to donated presents, helping families who were struggling through this holiday season.

"Christmas morning is probably the best morning for families around the world and here at Metropolitan Ministries, Christmas morning is a very special morning for families that faced a lot of crisis in their lives," says Metro Ministries President Tim Marks. "That's why they're here. Our goal is to help these families become self-sufficient."

"This is a start to a new beginning for these families and what a great way to have a great beginning here on Christmas morning," says Marks.
