Just in time for Valentine's Day, Manatee County Goodwill locations are set to begin their campaign aimed at mending the broken hearted with a little support for their community.
The tongue-in-cheek "Donate Your Ex's Stuff" campaign runs from Feb. 15 to Feb. 29 at multiple Goodwill Manasota stores. The idea is to redirect any animosity or hate from a failed relationship and turn it into something positive for the community by donating leftover belongings to charity.
Goodwill Manasota is hosting a free, public party to mark the beginning of the campaign. The event is from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. February 8 at iHeart Media in Sarasota.
So, maybe rethink that stereotypical symbolic bonfire. You never know who might get good use out of their stuff.
