Sarasota police detectives are investigating an early morning shooting in the area of Palmadelia Avenue and Dr. Martin Luther King Way in Sarasota, officials said.
An unidentified man was shot about 3:25 a.m. Sunday and taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital with life-threatening injuries, Sarasota police spokeswoman Genevieve Judge said in a news release.
The name and age of the victim was unknown at the time.
The person responsible remains on the run.
It is unknown whether the shooting is connected to other active cases.
