Locale Market Executive Chef Jeffrey Hileman doesn't like to sweat the details, especially during the holiday season when being with family is a top priority.
Check out Hileman's cooking demonstration of his grandmother's cranberry relish recipe on ABC Action News Saturday A.M. Edition, and how to make it a "Stress- Free Thanksgiving."
“Gram’s” Cranberry Relish
¾ cups plus 1 T of sugar
1 cup hot water
12 oz fresh cranberries
1 granny smith apple, peeled, cored and medium dice
1/8 t cinnamon
Method of preparation
  1. Dissolve sugar in water over low heat.
  2. Add cranberries and apples, simmer uncovered for 10 minutes.
  3. Once cranberries have “popped”, stir in cinnamon, and remove from heat.
  4. Relish will thicken as it cools.
  5. Enjoy!
