Largo police seek answers in apartment complex shooting that turned fatal

A man died after a shooting at an apartment complex on Bolesta Road late Friday night, authorities said.

Ricardo Guzman, 33, was shot at the Melrose on the Bay apartment complex at 16321 Bolesta Road sometime after 11 p.m. Friday, the Largo Police Department said.

Largo police officers responded to a report of shots fired at the apartment complex at 11:45 p.m., a Largo police media release said.

Guzman called 911 to say he had been shot. He was found in his dark blue Toyota Tacoma in the north end of the complex near building 5103.

He was taken to Largo Medical Center, where he died of his injuries.

Guzman did not live at the apartment complex, the release said.

An unidentified person was seen running from the area of the gunshots. It is unknown whether that person was a suspect or a bystander.

No information was released about a potential suspect.
