A citizen crashed into the driver's side of a deputy cruiser early Tuesday morning, pinning the deputy inside.

Emergency responders cut the deputy free from the wreckage with Jaws of Life near the intersection of Balm Riverview Road and Panther Trace Boulevard. The deputy received treatment at Tampa General Hospital, but her condition was not immediately available.

Authorities did not provide any information on the second driver, who was uninjured in the crash.

Southbound lanes of Balm Riverview were closed as of 5 a.m. Tuesday due to the crash investigation.
