8:30AM UPDATE | All Interstate 4 eastbound lanes are open following two separate traffic crashes that occurred near Alexander Street early Sunday morning.
The first traffic crash occurred about 4:30 a.m. Sunday when an unidentified vehicle went out of control and collided with a concrete barrier wall, according to a Florida Highway Patrol media alert. After impact, the vehicle came to rest in the eastbound I-4 travel lanes.
Four other vehicles collided when they attempted to take evasive action to avoid the first vehicle.
A second traffic crash occurred about 6:30 a.m., when state troopers were clearing the first accident, the highway patrol said.
Two vehicles collided on the State Road 39 overpass after the drivers lost control of their vehicles, the media alert said. One vehicle overturned.
The crashes closed the I-4 eastbound lanes until about 8:30 a.m.
No information was provided about injuries.
