A fire on Howell Road on Wednesday night caused major damage to a house and led to the injury of a Hillsborough County firefighter.
Late Wednesday night county firefighters responded to a fully involved house fire in the 2300 block of Howell Road.
While battling the blaze, a firefighter helping to coordinate the firefighting effort was injured. He was taken by ambulance to an area hospital for treatment.
Neither the name of the firefighter nor the extent of his injury had been released by early Thursday morning.
No information was released about the cause of the fire.
There also was no details available about whether anyone was home at the time of the fire.
