TAMPA - Seminole Heights business owners invite residents to kick off the holiday season by taking part in a series of shopping events, prize giveaways and block parties in the central Tampa neighborhood on Small Business Saturday.
The community will celebrates its Fifth Annual Holiday Shop Hop from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25. along historic stretches of Florida and Nebraska avenues and throughout the area.
"Seminole Heights' growing community of unique shops and award-winning restaurants is making this year's event bigger and better than ever," said Elizabeth Graham, owner of Forever Beautiful Salon and Wine Bar. "We are thrilled to continue supporting local independents, while also helping to raise funds this year for an animal adoption program through Lowry Park Zoo."
In recent weeks, Seminole Heights has found itself in the center of unwanted and unwelcomed attention. Four people have been killed in what Tampa police said are unexplained but related homicides on the streets of Seminole Heights.
In the wake of the negative attention, Seminole Heights residents and business leaders have committed to stay strong, together and remain active in the vibrant neighborhood nestled in the heart of the city.
A portion of proceeds and donations collected for Lowry Park Zoo will be formally presented at dusk Saturday, Dec. 2, at the first-ever Seminole Heights Tree Lighting at The Graham Building
