One man is dead after a home invasion in a mobile home park at 219 Bywater Drive in Town 'n' Country. Police say the incident does not appear to be random. Still, the violence so close to home terrifies 12-year-old Michael Bermudes who lives a few homes down the street.

"I'm scared," he said. "We're all scared."

Bermudes father suggested we speak with his son about the incident. He says he and his family heard the shots around 11 p.m. Monday.

"We thought it was fireworks at first," he said. "(Deputies) said that the guy got shot. We were so scared that we just entered our house, we didn't know what to do."

About 11 p.m. Monday, deputies responded to the mobile home where three armed suspects walked up to the home and confronted two people. One adult male victim was shot inside of the home. He was transported to the hospital where he later died.

"I'm scared that he might kill somebody else," Bermudes said.

Detectives obtained a search warrant to enter the mobile home and removed a dog.

HCSO identified the victim as 25-year-old Amari Martinez. Right now, detectives say there isn't a good description of the suspects.
