Staff at a foster home in Thonotosassa are desperate to get power back at their facility after Hurricane Irma.
Everyday Blessings lost power at both their Thonotosassa facility and their other one in Sarasota on Sunday.
Staff had to throw out the food in their refrigerator.
Richard Stroud, Executive Director, estimates the losses in the thousands.
They moved the 28 kids from their Thonotosassa location to another home that offered to take them in while they wait for electricity.
They got power back in Sarasota on Wednesday.
So far the community has helped, donating food and finding a freezer to store their frozen food before it spoils.
TECO estimates residents around Thonotosassa will get power back by Sunday. In the meantime, Stroud is looking for other options and hoping to find a way to get their kids back home.
"They have school coming up hopefully next week," he said, "so they can get back to their routine, their homes, all their belongings here. They need to get back to a normal routine just like everybody does."
