Gov. Scott hosts Zika virus roundtable discussions in Pasco, Pinellas counties on Tuesday

Governor Rick Scott will host Zika virus roundtable discussions in Pasco and Pinellas counties on Tuesday. 

The Florida Governor will host the first roundtable in Clearwater at 10 a.m. and then he will travel to New Port Richey for a second discussion just before 1 p.m.

The discussions will focus on what is being done to try and halt the spread of the zika virus and what help the federal government will provide. 

The Governor spent Monday in the Miami neighborhood where the virus first started spreading locally. 

He announced that he is asking the CDC to send 5,000 Zika test kits and 10,000 prevention kits to the state. 

On Monday, Mayor Buckhorn also spoke about the newest initiative in the Tampa Bay area. He is deploying code enforcement officers to drop 3,600 Mosquito dunks to standing water in the area.
