Drivers concerned about dead cats on Howard Frankland bridge

Mary Beth Singh drives the Howard Franklin Bridge several times each week to get to work. She said she saw a dead cat on the bridge earlier this month. Then, she said it kept happening.

"The one cat looked pregnant and injured. I really wanted to get out and help, but I couldn't do anything," said Singh.

FHP responded to the scene, but a trooper was never able to find the cat.

Singh joined a group of cat lovers to talk about the issue. Group members have reported seeing five different cats on the side of the road within the past two weeks. Most of the cats, except for one, were dead.

"I think someone is throwing them out from a car," said Singh.

FHP is investigating the situation.
