That is the number of children diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. every year. A quarter of them won't survive.
September is National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. It is a chance to spotlight the types of cancer that affect children and an opportunity to raise money for research and help with family support.
Kevin O'Connell, managing partner at Northwestern Mutual and a supporter of Alex's Lemonade Stand, visited the ABC Action News studio Saturday to talk about the fight against pediatric cancer.
On Aug 19, O'Connell will make a donation to help fund a nursing support program. He also is sponsoring a lemon drop fundraising event.
