The Tampa Police Department is asking car dealers to beware of a group of bandits who are burglarizing and stealing cars.
About 10 masked men arrived at the Prespa car lot on Florida Avenue in a minivan that had been stolen in the Orlando area. The auto thieves broke in the dealership, grabbed keys and took eight vehicles.
"I think they staked us out, planned it, I blame myself a little bit one of the major issues is never leave the keys here any longer," owner Danny Halimi said.
The thieves were caught on camera by surveillance video at the dealership early Friday morning.
Police officers are asking anyone with information about the auto thefts to contact the Tampa Police Department. They also are asking area car dealers to be extra vigilant while this group is still on the run.
