8:10AM SUNDAY UPDATE | Tampa police say 5-year-old Ryan English has been found safe in Brandon.
An officer went to a relative's house in Brandon, where the 5-year-old was located, the Tampa Police Department said. The child will be returned to his mother Sunday.
Authorities believe it appears there was some miscommunication between family members.
ORIGINAL STORY | A search is underway for 5-year-old Ryan English in Tampa, police say.
Ryan was last seen about 2:30 a.m. Sunday in the area of North 39th Street and East Regnas Avenue in Tampa, the Tampa Police Department said.
Ryan is described as about 3-foot tall and weighs about 35 pounds. He has short hair.
He was last seen wearing a white and orange T-shirt and brown shorts with a red stain.
