A body was discovered Sunday morning in the water off Egmont Key, officials said.
A good Samaritan spotted the body about 7:30 a.m. and contacted the U.S. Coast Guard, a Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission spokesman said.
Marine units from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, FWC and Pinellas County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene, FWC spokesman James Boogaerts said.
The Hillsborough County sheriff's marine unit recovered the body, sheriff's spokesman J.D. Callaway said. The body was taken to the marine unit headquarters at Port Tampa Bay.
