The Avon Lake Police Department is investigating a series of burglaries involving kicked in front doors, the most recent which occurred over the weekend.
On Saturday, police responded to a report of a burglary, only to find two residential units which had their doors kicked in and items taken.
Officials say they’ve seen an increase in this type of criminal activity, and that cluster style homes and condominiums appear to be the preferred targets. High end jewelry appears to be the most predominantly taken item.
The police department asks that residents report suspicious activity in their neighborhoods by calling 440-933-4567.
