Armed robber targets Bay area pharmacies

An armed man targeting pharmacies in Pinellas County and possibly Pasco County remains on the loose, authorities said.

The Largo Police Department is seeking the public's help to determine the identity of a man who robbed a Walgreens Pharmacy at 103 Indian Rocks Road S. at about 8:54 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21.

The man was armed with a semiautomatic firearm. He fled from the scene on foot after the robbery.

The bandit was described as a white man, about 5 foot 10 with a stocky build. He was wearing blue jeans, sneakers and a long sleeve top and a hood type of cloth covering his face.

The same man is believed to have robbed a CVS Pharmacy at 13998 Walsingham Road about 6:22 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 21.

Largo police detectives also are coordinating with Pasco County sheriff's officials following another armed robbery Friday night in Pasco County. Staffers at a Walgreens at 9220 Little Road were robbed at gunpoint.
