Argument leads to shooting in Wawa parking lot in Pinellas Park

A fight between two men in the parking lot of a Wawa convenience store on 34th Street North led to one man shooting the other Saturday night, authorities said. 

The incident occurred shortly before 11 p.m. Saturday outside the Wawa at 6200 34th St. N.

The shooting victim, whose name has not been released, was driven from the scene in a private vehicle, the Pinellas Park Police Department said.

Officials located the injured man inside the vehicle at 54th Avenue and 34th Street, police said. He was transported to an area hospital in serious condition to be treated for a gunshot wound to the chest. 

Pinellas Park police detectives were called to the shooting scene to investigate. 

The name of the suspect has not been released.

No information was provided about whether an arrest was made.
