Clearwater Public Library plans month-long centennial celebration

Clearwater Public Library is hosting a month-long celebration in honor of its 100 years of service.

A big party is set for noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, at the library at

You can take part in the Pokemon Go trend with a Pokemon hunt with 3D printed Pokemons at the Clearwater Main Library.   

The Clearwater Public Library System also will celebrate its 100 years of service with a week of centennial celebrations at each branch:

  • ·         Beach Library: Monday, Sept. 12, 2-3:30 p.m.
  • Enjoy cake and play Library Trivia Pursuit to win prizes
  • ·         North Greenwood Library: Tuesday, Sept. 13, 4-6 p.m.
  • Enjoy cake and boogie to the music of DJ Lil Kid Bay.
  • ·         East Library: Wednesday, Sept. 14, 4-5:30 p.m.
  • Enjoy cake, crafting and gaming.
  • ·         Countryside Library: Thursday, Sept. 15, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
  • Party at the library, participate in a coloring craft and enjoy cake.
  • ·         Main Library: Saturday, Sept. 17, noon-5 p.m.
  • The event will feature visits from local dignitaries, a presentation by genealogist Karen Fortin, a video about library history, police and fire vehicles, an appearance by the Suncoast Ghostbusters, food, and birthday cake.
  • Activities will include library tours, sensory learning stations based on the number 100 and the 100-second-challenge for teens, music by DJ Lil Kid Bay and a performance by Spheres by Blaise.
  • Also, be sure to bring in your family history items for digitization.
