A motorcycle traffic crash on Seminole Boulevard claimed the lives of its two riders Saturday night, officials said.

Shortly after 9:30 p.m. Saturday, a 2015 Volkswagen Golf was headed west at the intersection of Seminole Boulevard and 114th Avenue North, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The Volkswagen failed to yield to a 1997 Honda motorcycle with two riders onboard traveling northbound in the center lane on Seminole Blvd. approaching 114th Ave., the highway patrol report said.

An unidentified 40-year-old man and 24-year-old woman died of their injuries at Bayfront Health  St. Petersburg. Their names were withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Daniel Thomas McLaughlin, 66, of Largo, the driver of the Volkswagen Golf, was treated at Largo Medical Center for minor injuries.

Alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the traffic accident.

Charges are pending.
