A 15-year-old student at Classical Preparatory Academy in Shady Hills was arrested Saturday, Nov. 5, for making a false report threatening to shoot up the school, Pasco County sheriff's officials said.

The incident began Tuesday, Nov. 1.

The 15-year-old made the threat during a conversation with two classmates, according to a Pasco County Sheriff's Office news release. The student reportedly said he knew where he could get a gun and knew the perfect time, apparently during the lunch period, to do the shooting.

The release also indicated student made statements targeting specific people and naming those he would not shoot.

One of the students involved in the conversation reported it to Classical Prep headmaster Ben Davis then contacted the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.

During an interview, the 15-year-old student admitted to making the statement, the release states. He told deputies he wasn't serious and didn't mean to scare anyone.
