Lowry Park Zoo released four rehabilitated manatees at the Tampa Electric power station Thursday on Dickman Road, a designated manatee sanctuary where the animals will have protection from the cold.
The four manatees Lowry Park released include:
Sota, rescued Dec. 5, 2014, from Phillippi Creek in Sarasota
Turtlepie, rescued Jan. 16, 2015, from Loggerhead in St. Petersburg
Snowpea, rescued Jan. 29, 2015, from 77th Canal in St. Petersburg
Whit, rescued March 3, 2015, from Whittaker Bayou in Sarasota
