PLANT CITY, Fla. — The Durant High School band is getting the opportunity of a lifetime on Friday.
The wind ensemble will perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City for the National Band Orchestra Festival.
Band Director Bruce Herrmann says, "Once they see the Hall and they step in there for that first time I think it's going to be a little bit of a wow moment to see how historic and the magnitude of the place. It's pretty incredible."
The band was selected from a panel of judges in 2017.
"We've put a lot of work into the 4 songs that we're playing and everyone's worked really hard for this," says senior Sarah Strike.
