HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. — The Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority is adding stops to certain routes and condensing other routes starting on March 22.

The Route 275LX (Cross Country Limited Express) and Route 60LX (New Tampa/Pasco Limited Express) will be rerouted leaving Tampa International Airport. Those two routes will now serve bus stops along Spruce Street and Westshore Boulevard before getting back on I-275.

The changes are designed to improve on-time performance, provide drivers with better amenities access and better serve the community, HART said in a report.

Stops along Route 1, which serve large sections of Florida Avenue in Tampa, will be condensed.

In a HART board meeting, transit leaders told board members this will help improve distances between stops and hopefully improve on-time performance.

Also starting March 22, Route 31 will no longer serve the Gibsonton Walmart directly. Instead, drivers will stay along Gibsonton Drive.

Transit leaders at HART said that will help improve safety for passengers on the bus as well as customers in the Walmart parking lot.
