Tampa Police asking for help to identity and locate the man who robbed the Mayflower Motel

Detectives are asking for help to find the man who robbed a motel on Sunday.

Tampa Police reports at approximately 6:52 p.m., an unknown man entered the office of the Mayflower Motel at 7510 Florida Avenue and asked an employee if there were any room vacancies.

After the employee said "no," the man pulled out a butcher knife and demanded all the cash in the register.

The man ran away with an undisclosed amount of money toward the Oaks at Riverview Apartment Complex located at 202 Broad Street E.

The suspect was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and long dark shorts.

Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay is offering a reward of up to $3,000 for a tip that leads to the identification and arrest of the suspect in the motel robbery.
