In the winter and spring, the bay area is the place to be for collegiate rowing teams.
More than 30 colleges and universities annually make The Stewards Foundation site in Tampa their home away from the colder weather they are accustomed to up north.
ABC Action News caught up with Coach John Bancheri, head rowing coach at Grand Valley State in Allendale, Michigan. You can hear from the coach in the video above.
The Stewards Foundation has offered to let those interested, try this Olympic sport for free. Just register on the organization's website, RowTampa.com, and you can take part in the learning sessions being held January 8 and 9, 2016.
