Lakeland Fire Rescue is currently responding to a chemical explosion at a warehouse in Lakeland.

According to a tweet, the explosion happened on Friday at the Ruthven Warehouse located at 3115 Drane Field Road.

Lakeland Fire said three people have been injured by the blast. Two have been transported to Tampa General and one has been transported to Lakeland Regional Medical Center with burns. All three are said to be stable.

It is also unknown what caused the explosion.

ABC Action News has learned the blast occurred in an area occupied by Natural Advantage Food Flavorings and chemicals involved included Toluene and Sodium Hypochloritie.  Both chemicals are used at the facility to clean kettles food flavorings are made in, according to Lakeland Fire Rescue.

The Ruthvens' website states the building is 98,8200 square feet and has docking for trucks.

Hazmat crews are on scene to monitor the chemical levels.
