Blue Bell ice cream returning to store shelves

Ice cream lovers can once again pick up a gallon of Blue Bell at Florida grocery stores starting Monday.

The ice cream company's distribution center in Delray Beach began delivering tubs of nine different flavors to stores Monday morning.

The ice cream was pulled from shelves last April after it was linked to listeria deaths and illnesses in several states.

The company says since then, it has updated its testing procedures and is more focused on sanitation than ever before.

Blue Bell began introducing its ice cream back into stores in other states in August.

Florida, Georgia and South Carolina are the last states to have the ice cream put back on their shelves. It could take until the end of the week before stores are fully stocked. Once they are, the process of phasing the ice cream back in everywhere it is sold will be complete.
