TAMPA, Fla. -- The first day of classes is just around the corner for Hillsborough County Public Schools and on Tuesday, the district released a form for families looking to exempt their children from its mask mandate policy.
The district's mask order requires all students, teachers and visitors to wear face coverings while on school grounds.
According to a statement released by Superintendent Addison Davis, medical exemptions are only available for children with certain conditions.
Below is the full statement released by Davis:
“Health and safety of our students and staff continues to be one of our top priorities therefore, masks will be required of all students, staff and visitors on Hillsborough County Public Schools property. Medical exemptions are only available for children who have a medical, physical, or psychological condition that prevents them from wearing a face covering during learning, and is certified by a licensed medical provider. We look forward to welcoming back our students as we get this school year underway.”

Below is the exemption form families can fill out for their children:
Hillsborough County students will kick off the school year with eLearning on August 24. One week later on August 31, students will transition to brick-and-mortar for those wanting that option.
