A video showing a police officer getting physical with a Florida woman is going viral.
The woman, Brittnie Fails, admits she was drunk on Sunday in Cape Coral and arguing with her boyfriend when this happened:NBC-2.com WBBH News for Fort Myers, Cape Coral & Naples, Florida
Trying to break up the fight, a police officer throws Fails to the ground. A witness posted the video on Facebook. Then, that same officer pulled the woman up off the pavement, telling the crowd she was faking her injuries.
He is now on administrative leave.
Cape Coral Mayor Marni Sawicki is asking people not to pass judgment until the investigation is finished.
"We have an excellent police force," she said. "They'll do the right thing and do a great investigation."
Fails, 23, called the officer's actions "excessive force." She ended up with scratches and bruises.
