New homes come with problem tile, causes issues for owners

A popping sound follows the tile trail throughout the Ramirez residence. Owner Robert Ramirez says it is the sound of loose tile.

The home was still covered under the one year warranty when this homeowner first complained to the Suarez Homes last September.

The contractor sent out a crew to replace six tiles a few months ago, then nothing. This homeowner made a call for action in May. Suarez directed that all our questions go through their attorney.

We spoke with company attorney Jim Holloman several times over the course of a month. Suarez sent a crew back to the Ramirez home for another inspection.

During our last call to Suarez's attorney the company confirmed all the tile would be replaced.

Demolition of the old tile is set to begin this week. And Suarez agreed to replace the tile in the home of another customer with a similar complaint.
