He's only in the 2nd grade but an Odessa boy has already faced the fight of his life.

On Thursday more than 700 of his classmates at Hammond Elementary got together to show Sam Young they're behind him.

When Sam walked onto the covered pavilion every student broke out in dance doing the whip showing Sam they stood beside him in whipping cancer's butt.

Just this week this 9-year-old finished his last round of Lymphoma fighting chemo.

Sam told us he never expected all of this. He told us it makes him feel good.

Sam’s dad Todd Young says the support has been overwhelming.

Be kind to Sam week is the brain child of the non-profit Be Kind and its founder Sharri Cagle.

It was clear the 700 seeds of kindness planted into the entire student body has taken root.
