As more people in the Bay Area fall victim to porch pirates, there are steps you can take to protect yourself and your front door deliveries.

Handyman Paul Schramm stops by to go through the process of installing a door bell camera.  This is a simple installation but the steps can vary depending on the model you buy.

This doorbell cam unit is going to replace your existing doorbell.  The wires that connected to the old doorbell will be powering the new one.  There is a very low risk of getting shocked, but to be safe, turn off the power before beginning installation.

Many of these units have motion detectors so in addition to always having a live video view of the front of your home you will be notified when ever someone approaches your front door.
