"You're always updating when you buy a new home," Della Gillum said as she walks through her newly renovated kitchen at her home in Seminole Heights.

The only thing left to change, are her lights.

"Well, we have the old can lights that most homes have."

The can or recessed lights in her kitchen without question are outdated.  They sport the old incandescent bulbs and the trim is stale looking.

Handyman Paul Schramm feels the smartest and most cost efficient fix here is to change out the old bulbs to LED and update the trim.  Both of these steps can be taken care of with an LED conversion kit for can or recessed lights.

The kit Paul demonstrated in this edition of House Calls was very inexpensive, the unit he used retails in a two-pack for $15.

If you can screw in a light bulb you can make this conversion in your home.
