Villa Pizza also called a Fresh Italian Kitchen is located inside the food court at Westfield Brandon Mall at 517 Brandon Town Center in Brandon and had to temporarily shut down due to over a dozen live roaches crawling in the kitchen on Friday October 28.

Inspectors also observed ants crawling around soda boxes and flies too numerous to count near the dish wash area.

The state also documented sewage/wastewater backing up through floor drains in the kitchen.

Other violations written up include an accumulation of black/green mold-like substance in the interior of the ice machine, the hand wash sink not accessible for employees to use due to a poster stored in the sink, and no soap provided at hand wash sink.

According to the inspection report, ready-to-eat, cooked chicken was held over 24-hours and not date marked in walk in cooler and required employee training had expired for all employees at Villa Pizza.

ABC Action News anchor Wendy Ryan spoke to Villa Pizza's manager on duty Scott who couldn't comment and recommended we call the corporate office, Villa Enterprises.

Ryan left messages for Leslie Chinea, director of marketing at Villa Enterprsies, but she never returned her calls or emails.
