Friday, October 5

Creatures of the Night at ZooTampa

When: 4 p.m. - 10 p.m.
Where: ZooTampa at Lowry Park, 1101 West Sligh Avenue, Tampa

Info: Creatures of the Night returns even spookier than last year, for ghouls and goblins of all ages! This year Medusa, The Serpent-Head Gorgon Queen, has stepped out of the pages of mythology and is lurking in the darkest shadows. The Zoo transforms into an eerie and immersive Halloween adventure for the whole family. Creatures emerge at dusk with startling surprises around every corner. No horror or gore, just fun frights for all!

First Friday in St. Pete

When: 5:30 p.m. - 10 p.m.
Where: Central Avenue, St. Petersburg 
Cost: Free
Info: First Friday St. Pete gets rolling on Central Avenue between 2nd and 3rd Street on – you guessed it! – the first Friday of every month. The party starts at 5:30pm and goes until 10. Your admission is free, the music is live, and vendors and restaurants offer a wide variety of food and drink.

Hari Kondabolu Stand Up

When: 8 p.m.
Where: The Straz Center at 1010 Macinnes Place, Tampa

Info: Brooklyn writer, comic and Wait, Wait Don’t Tell Me regular Hari Kondabolu’s Netflix standup special Warn Your Relatives earned him a spot on Variety’s “Top 10 Comics to Watch” list in 2018. The New York Times hails Kondabolu as “one of the most exciting political comics in stand-up today.” Kondabolu has performed his hilarious socially-conscious stand-up on Late Night with David Letterman, Conan, Jimmy Kimmel Live and in John Oliver’s NY Stand-Up Show.

Saturday, October 6

Beer, Bands, and Barbeque

When: 12 p.m. - 7 p.m.
Where: Music Compound at 1751 Cattlemen Road, Sarasota

Info: Music Compound is ready to kick off the fall season with the 4th annual Beer, Bands & BBQ! This will be a day for the whole family, with craft and domestic beers, local BBQ favorites and top local bands. Not only will there be traditional BBQ to look forward to but also BBQ with a twist, with menu items such as: BBQ chicken pizza, BBQ classics, and more! Every hour features a different genre. 

Tampa Bay's Tailgate Taste Fest

When: 3 p.m. - 10 p.m.
Where: Curtis Hixon Park at 600 North Ashley Drive, Tampa 
Cost: Free Admission | $25 for 5 food samples | $35 for 10 food samples
Info: Restaurants from around Tampa Bay will be cooking up all of your tailgate favorites, right in the middle of Curtis Hixon Park! Tampa Bay's Tailgate Taste Fest is FREE to the public to attend. Bring your friends and family and enjoy a wonderful afternoon at the park and once again be immersed in the ultimate tailgate experience. To enjoy these award-worthy eats, a food sample wristband must be purchased.

Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Florida Panthers

Movies in the Park: Monster House

Info: Enjoy a free showing of Monster House this Saturday night! The movie will be played on a large inflatable screen at Water Works Park. Food trucks and concessions will be onsite. Bring a low-back chair and blanket. Dogs on leashes are welcome.
