SARASOTA, Fla.—Home cooking, friendly service and delicious pies—that’s what you can expect to find at Yoder’s Restaurant & Amish Village. It has been a staple in Sarasota since it first opened its doors in 1975.

The family-owned restaurant is best known for its homemade Amish pies, baked fresh every morning. There are 32 different flavors of baked and cream pies to choose from, with Peanut Butter Cream being the fan favorite. Seasonal flavors are also added to the list throughout the year.

“We don’t have any preservatives...most everything is made from scratch,” said general manager Becky Battles. “And it’s just comfort food like mom used to make.”

Yoder’s makes more than 150 pies per day, including dine-in and take-out orders. Guests can stop by the carry-out window if they want to pick up an array of delicious desserts on the go.

The restaurant also produces a lot of pies for the holidays. Last Thanksgiving season alone, they made a whopping 8,000 pies!

In addition to the delicious treats, guests can check out the rest of the Amish Village, which is made up of a gift shop, produce market and deli all next door to one another.

“Having practically grown up here, I think that this is a wonderful place to be,” said Battles, “and with wonderful customers. And we have a really safe place for a lot of employees and their first jobs.”

Yoder’s Restaurant is open Mondays through Saturdays starting at 6 a.m. Check out the breakfast and lunch/dinner menus, or just pick out which of these desserts you want to order for pick up!
