Could someone turn down the heat!? Temperatures are expected to reach record highs this week in Tampa Bay.

If you’re looking for ways to escape the blazing sun, try out these indoor activities that will put a cool twist on your scorching hot day.

Skating at Clearwater Ice Arena

Stay out of the sun and hit the ice! Learn how to ice skate, figure skate or play hockey at the indoor Clearwater Ice Arena. New and experienced skaters can enjoy this year-round attraction at three different Tampa Bay Skating Academy locations. You may even want to grab a sweatshirt, it will be chilly inside! You know, because of the ice.

Sky Zone Trampoline Park

Get ready to grab some air! Sky Zone Trampoline Park has numerous activities that will certainly bring along a physical workout. This trampoline park offers dodgeball pick-up games, trampoline dunk competitions, foam pits, workout classes and freestyle jumping hours for both kids and adults.

The Great Escape Room

Put your thinking cap on for this one! Try out The Great Escape Room in Tampa, which is a Sherlock-themed escape adventure game where players solve a series of puzzles and embark on a scavenger hunt using hints, strategy and clues in effort to ‘escape.’ Remember, you must work as a team to get out and you only have 60 minutes!

Vertical Ventures

Whether you’re an experienced climber or a first-timer, Vertical Ventures has a rock wall just for you. Serving as a climbing destination in Tampa Bay since 1996, Vertical Ventures offers classes, memberships, group events and four types of climbing at both of their local locations.

iFLY Tampa Indoor Skydiving

Experience the thrill of free fall without jumping out of an airplane! Jumpers will take turns ‘flying’ in a vertical wind tunnel with an instructor to simulate the true feeling of skydiving. There’s no parachute or jumping, and nearly anyone can fly, including those with disabilities. Indoor skydiving is a fun and safe activity that can help anyone with their fear of flying. With wind speeds around 120 mph, you're sure to stay cool with this one.

The Florida Aquarium

Dive with sharks, swim with fishes or just tour the massive aquarium where you can discover over 20,000 animals and plants native to Florida and around the world. Besides its vast display of marine wildlife, the Florida Aquarium is also home to plenty of birds and mammals. Their mission is to entertain, educate and inspire stewardship about our natural environment.

Of course you could always catch a film at the movie theater or check out your local mall. What's your favorite way to spend time indoors? Let us know! Send your ideas to Zack.Perry@WFTS.com.
