Every Friday ABC Action News puts a special spotlight on a dog or cat that needs a home in our Pet of the Week segment.

This week we are featuring a Hound mix. Meet Lulu. This 2-year-old girl comes from Pet Pal Animal Shelter in St. Petersburg.

Lilly is a big lady with a gentle, loving soul who has seen a lot in her short life.

Pet Pal rescued Lulu from another shelter while she was pregnant. She finished raising her puppies, Linda and Lyle, and is ready to find her own fur-ever family.

All Lilly wants is to be loved and pampered. She is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $200.

For more information about how to adopt Lulu or other adoptable animals at Pet Pal Animal Shelter, you can call them (727) 328-7738 or go online to www.petpalanimalshelter.com.

Pet Pal Animal Shelter is located at 405 22nd Street South Street in St. Petersburg. You can visit all their dogs and cats up for adoption Tuesdays to Fridays from 11:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 10:00 to 4:30 p.m.

Pet Pal's biggest fundraiser of the year is being held Saturday, May 13 at The Coliseum in downtown St. Petersburg.

This year's theme for the 15th annual Puppy Love Benefit is "Whiskers in Wonderland."

The evening festivities include a silent and live auction, a 50/50 raffle, dinner, puppy pimping and live entertainment.

The fundraiser provided much needed money for the care and recuperation of animals at Pet Pal Animal Shelter.

The event runs from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. Single tickets are $85 and can be purchased by clicking here.
